Summa is Ova!

So sad to see summer come and go, but I am thrilled with this semester. It is so fun to go back to school with new pencils, folders, binders, and see all my friends again. The end is in reach and I am so excited that I am a few steps closer to becoming a teacher. I have wonderful teachers. I think this is my favorite semester so far. My teachers are so excited for us as we learn new methods and gain new insight to teaching the future leaders of our nation. Sometimes it seems a little overbearing and fearsome, but I just think about the end results. I want to be such a good teacher and to influence the lives of others. For one of my classes I need to keep up my journal writing. I figured that I may as well start putting my experiences on the blog so that my family and friends can stay up to date on what is going on in my life.
This semester I have the grand opportunity to start visiting the elementary school classrooms more often. I will be in the classrooms 7:30 to 1:30 everyday 5 days a week for 4 weeks starting in October. It doesn't seem like much time, but it will be enough to get me excited for my own classroom. Sometimes it's hard to be in this program because some people think "oh you are in eled so that you can be a mom." To that I say "SO WHAT!" if you think about it this is a great profession. I am learning things that will help me with my future family and I get to help the lives of others for good. Best of both worlds. And HELLO I get holidays and summers off! I'm no idiot.
I have some really inspiring teachers that have already made a huge impact on me and I can't wait for the rest of the semester. Jesus Christ is THE BEST teacher in this entire world. We are taught to follow in His footsteps so why not be a teacher. It's amazing to me that I will have the Spirit when I teach. Not many teachers have that in their work days. The Savior will be there to guide me as I do my best to teach His children in a way that will be most beneficial to them.
Here's a clip that may inspire you. It's stuff like this that really makes me want to be a Darn Good Teacher!
Enjoy!

  2. People who say those kinds of things are lame. You my friend are awesome! And you'll be an amazing teacher. Teachers really are so influential and good teachers are critical. I can't tell you how much I appreciate my sons good teachers. And you're right, as a mother you reach every day all day. What better way to prepare yourself for your greatest teaching role. Love you!!

  3. Hello Caitlin, If I could go back and start BYU again I would travel the path to become the best kindergarten teacher on the planet. Dalia's K-teacher is so incredible and fun, there is a waiting list to get in his class. He is renown throughout the district. Congrats on your progress! I love you, xoxo
